I always grab some Salt Lick at the airport when I'm there. It's not true Texas BBQ, I would say more like Carolina BBQ with the vinegar based sauce but it's delicious anyway. Also it's a little pricey but worth every penny
My favorite BBQ period... I freaking LOVE!!!!!!! This place. The environment is open and big but, each server tries their best to make you feel as though you own the place. The ribs are great but the 'BEEF RIBS' are absolutely life changing. Maybe even listed with the DEA as a controlled substance. I was never more excited to dirty a clean plate than I was going here. I wish I lived closer
One of the best meals I have ever had in an airport. You want to try to get here early to beat the rush (it's obviously the most popular spot in the Austin airport). Ashley the bartender did an outstanding job. It was like 1 min from the time I ordered to the time I received my meal. Beer selection on draft is ok... You can't go wrong coming here during your airport visit....unless you are a vegetarian, then this might not be the best place for you.

We were very surprised how good the food was here. BBQ sauce was very tasty. The prices for the meal that we had was beyond reasonable for food at an airport. Because this was at an airport I can only give 3 stars for the atmosphere. Must try.
If, like me, you are on a quick business trip to Austin and don't have time to seek out a BBQ restaurant while in town, the Salt Lick is a great place to experience some of Austin's famous BBQ. It's a great way to have a tasty meal during a time that would otherwise be spent waiting for a plane. The line can be long during peak times, but service is fast and efficient. From my experience, a two meat platter is a great deal, and the generous portions will leave you full and ready for a long flight. The meats and sauce are top notch, but don't overlook the terrific sides: beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and bread to soak it all up, included with the platter choices. Far better than the cast majority of airport food out there.
INCREDIBLE FOOD, especially for an airport. Came by super hungry from 2 back to back delayed flights and this place delivered. More than enough food for 2 people with the 2 meat plate, with some to spare. The best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had in my LIFE!!! It’s the size of a premature baby so come hungry. Even if you aren’t hungry just stuff it down, it’s worth the indigestion. Great service…fast and on point! I brought my husband back to try and his eyes rolled back. If you ever have a choice between this place and any other breakfast taco spot choose THIS!
